My Blogs

August 26, 2008

Okay here are the blogs that I have subscribed to (or to which I have subscribed if you want proper grammar): Genealogy Blog; Old Virginia Blog; and The Ten Thousand Year Blog. Why? Well, because I do a lot of searching for other people’s ancestors, because my family hails from Virginia from like forever, and because The 10,000 Year Blog looks very interesting. I too am interested in the Victorian era, much of my earlier research was in the 19th century (but it was also very specific research), and most of the furniture with which I grew up was Victorian or Edwardian (my grandmother’s), so I have an affinity to that time period. Also, the Impressionists are my favorite artists (as pedestrian as that may be). However, I could not find any blog listed specifically as “Victorian.” If anyone out there knows of a blog like this or a 19th century blog please let me know.

Baby Bear

August 26, 2008

That’s my baby Bear, the love of my life! He’s a ferret and loves to play, play, play. All he knows is to eat, play and sleep (and poop)! He doesn’t have any homework to do and thinks that I shouldn’t either because that takes away from his playtime! I also have another ferret, Simon, who I adopted from a ferret shelter after my little girl ferret, Missy, died. Anyway, all of this has nothing to do with my class, but just to let you know why that pic is on my header. I will probably change the pics from time to time.

This is a test

August 26, 2008

Okay, I subscribed to the feed and now I want to see if it works. This is a test. The other groups that I have subscribed to show up in my email so let’s see what happens to this blog. The class last night was very interesting but I only like to blog when I really have something to say. I think, however, that I may have a lot to say on certain subjects in this class–let’s see. Anyway, this is just a test.

HELLO WORLD

August 26, 2008

Hello to the 696 class. How technological am I? Well, I started with computers a few decades ago when my sons got into computers (I also got into snow skiing when my sons got into that!). But anyway, I think I am very computer literate but will admit to not doing MAC very well. I taught myself HTML when the government employees were furloughed back in 1996? (I think) Will stop now because prof is talking but I’ve got lots more to say. Well, maybe not.
